Man surrenders after killing his mother

Pham Truong Giang, 34, surrendered to police after allegedly killing his bedridden mother, whom he had been caring for following an accident.

Giang was arrested by An Giang Provincial Police on 29/8 for murder.

According to the investigation, Giang often drank alcohol after his divorce. Approximately seven months prior, his mother suffered a traffic accident, leaving her bedridden and requiring assistance with all daily activities.

On the evening of 23/8, after drinking, Giang entered the bathroom to change his mother's clothes. Investigators stated that Giang, frustrated by months of sole caregiving, developed the idea to kill his mother to "no longer worry or be busy."

Giang allegedly strangled his mother to death. He then informed his sisters that she had passed away but did not disclose his involvement.

As the family prepared for the funeral, relatives suspected Giang's involvement in her death and reported it to the police.

The next day, Giang surrendered to the police.
