On 4/7, Quang Tri Provincial Police's Drug Crime Investigation Department announced the prosecution of Hoang Viet Toan, Hoang Trung Hieu, both residing in Dong Son ward, and Nguyen Van Hung, Tan Gianh commune, for illegal drug trafficking. The announcement followed a series of arrests and a voluntary surrender that led to the seizure of a significant quantity of drugs.

The investigation began in late June when the Drug Crime Investigation Department, in collaboration with professional units and Tan Gianh Commune Police, caught Nguyen Van Hung red-handed illegally trading drugs. Approximately four kilograms of crystal methamphetamine were seized at his home.

As the investigation expanded, police clarified the roles of those involved in the ring. Following a period of persuasion, Hoang Viet Toan came to the police agency to surrender. He voluntarily handed over approximately three kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.

Further related to the ring, police searched Hoang Trung Hieu's residence, seizing over 200 grams of "happy water" synthetic drugs. Investigating authorities identified Hoang Trung Hieu as the ringleader of the operation.

In total, authorities seized approximately seven kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and over 200 grams of "happy water" synthetic drugs.
