Ministry of public security inaugurates new headquarters

The Ministry of Public Security inaugurated its new headquarters at 96 Nguyen Du Street, Cua Nam Ward, after more than 19 months of construction.

On the morning of 16/8, General Secretary To Lam, along with several Politburo members, former Politburo members, Party Central Committee Secretariat members, and Party Central Committee members, attended the inauguration ceremony and ribbon-cutting for the new Ministry of Public Security headquarters. Among the delegates were former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and former Permanent Member of the Secretariat, former Minister of Public Security, General Le Hong Anh.

According to the Ministry of Public Security, the project is a key one, exemplifying the modernization of the ministry's facilities, in line with Resolution 12 of the Politburo. The building provides spacious, standardized, and modern facilities, with ample space for the ministry's operations.

The project broke ground in 12/2023 and construction continued for 200 consecutive days and nights. "From today, Hanoi has another beautiful architectural work, representing the country's new era of development. Also from today, the Ministry of Public Security has a proper headquarters," Deputy Minister of Public Security Dang Hong Duc said.

The former Ministry of Public Security headquarters at 44 Yet Kieu Street, Cua Nam Ward, was built with Soviet aid in 1976. Despite several renovations, the building had deteriorated and no longer met the requirements for work and operations. The Ministry of Public Security headquarters at 47 Pham Van Dong Street has been in use since 2010, but most of the area has been repurposed for the construction of the National Population Database Center.
