Quang Ninh provincial economic police recently seized nearly 26 tons of foul-smelling chicken feet, chicken wings, and pork trotters from three warehouses located near the border in Mong Cai city. The Quang Ninh Provincial Police announced on 23/4 that its Economic Police Department is collaborating with other functional forces to investigate and process three warehouse owners for engaging in the trade of food products lacking clear origin, traceability, and proper food safety assurance.
The large-scale seizure followed a series of coordinated inspections initiated on the morning of 18/4. Task forces from the Economic Police Department simultaneously targeted several goods collection points across Mong Cai city.
At 9:45 AM, officers, in cooperation with Market Management Team 4 and Customs Control Team 1, inspected a cold storage facility in Po Hen village, Hai Son commune. The facility, owned by Ninh A Dau (29), contained 10,5 tons of frozen chicken feet for which no documentation proving legal origin could be provided.
Just 15 minutes later, another task force raided a warehouse belonging to Sen Van Leng (34) in Quarter 12, Mong Cai 1 ward. This inspection led to the confiscation of an additional 3,3 tons of mid-cut chicken wings.
By 11:50 AM on the same day, police discovered 12 tons of frozen pork trotters at another cold storage facility in Po Hen village, Hai Son commune. This warehouse was under the ownership of San A Sau (31).
Investigators noted that all three batches, totaling nearly 26 tons of food, were stored under extremely poor hygienic conditions. Many of the products had turned a dark gray-black, emitted a strong foul odor, and displayed clear signs of decomposition and severe spoilage.

The warehouse owners were unable to present any invoices or documents to substantiate the legal origin or traceability of the seized frozen food. Furthermore, they had not obtained the necessary food business licenses or food safety certificates from competent state agencies, as mandated by law.
Consequently, the Economic Police Department has temporarily seized all evidence and related vehicles involved in the illegal operation.
