On 23/4, Tay Ninh Provincial Police reported that the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department questioned the account owner who posted the video. The infringing content has since been removed, and security agencies are continuing to process the case as per regulations.
Investigation revealed that a 12-year-old boy from Loc Trung hamlet, Loc Ninh commune, had borrowed 100,000 VND from a 14-year-old teenager in the same area. On the morning of 18/4, the 14-year-old, accompanied by another 14-year-old friend, sought out the younger boy to demand repayment. Since the boy only had 60,000 VND, the two teenagers arranged to collect the full amount the following day, threatening to assault him if he failed to pay.
The next morning, as the money was still not collected, the two teenagers forced the boy to an abandoned cafe and took turns assaulting him. Upon seeing a friend pass by, one of the teenagers asked them to record the assault on their phone.
The following day, the boy, who had sustained multiple abrasions, was taken by his family to TP HCM for medical examination. Three days after the incident, the video was circulated on social media, accompanied by false information claiming the victim had died, causing public confusion.
The family confirmed that the boy's health is now stable, and he is eating normally. Loc Ninh Commune Police are considering appropriate action regarding the two teenagers involved.
