In late June, Soc Trang province's Inspectorate released its findings on the Department of Health's activities related to issuing, suspending, and revoking medical practice licenses and operating permits for healthcare facilities.
The investigation revealed 363 applications for medical licenses were supported by practice confirmations issued by local medical centers and clinics that did not actually provide the required practical training. An additional 45 applications showed signs of forged seals. Furthermore, the Department of Health's Professional Department assessed and submitted 512 applications that did not meet regulations for license approval by the director.
The Inspectorate also uncovered irregularities in overtime pay and bonuses totaling over 689 million VND, improperly disbursed to the advisory council, secretariat, and support staff.
