On 13/9, at the anniversary celebration, the Supreme People's Court was awarded the title of Labor Hero.
Speaking at the ceremony, Party General Secretary To Lam affirmed the role of the court system over 80 years alongside the nation's history. He also set out the sector's mission in the new era.
The general secretary stated that the court represents the sacred meaning of justice, fairness, integrity, and faith, serving as a pillar for the people. In this new phase of the country's vigorous development and aspirations, the Supreme People's Court needs to promote judicial reform and build a professional, modern, fair, and honest legal system that lives up to people's expectations.
Courts must be a strong legal fortress, reinforcing people's trust in the Party and State. Judicial activities must prioritize fairness, human rights, citizen rights, state interests, and the legitimate interests of organizations and individuals.
The general secretary demanded that no serious misjudgments are permissible, regardless of the nature or severity of the case. Every verdict must be reasonable and empathetic, upholding both humanitarian values and the rule of law. This will maintain social stability and harmony, nurturing faith and the aspiration for a better life for the people.
"The court is not just a judicial body; it must become a symbol of justice and faith for the people, a solid foundation for fairness and righteousness," the general secretary directed.

Referring to the past 10 years, during which courts at all levels handled over 5.2 million cases, the general secretary acknowledged this significant workload. He noted the challenges faced, given limited resources and working conditions. The court system has received the Gold Star Order and two Ho Chi Minh Orders. Today's Labor Hero title during the renovation period recognizes the persistent efforts and dedication of generations of court officials.
Over 70,840 billion VND recovered for the state
Le Minh Tri, member of the Party Central Committee and chief justice of the Supreme People's Court, reported that the court system has developed a contingent of judges with sufficient political will and capacity to deliver accurate verdicts. They have resolutely fought against corruption, bringing numerous officials to public trial without "forbidden zones or exceptions."
Serious and complex cases under the supervision of the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption have been rigorously prosecuted: Pham Cong Danh (Vietnam Construction Bank), Hua Thi Phan (Dai Tin Bank), Ha Van Tham (Oceanbank), Dinh Ngoc He (Thai Son Corporation, Ministry of National Defense), and Phan Van Anh Vu and accomplices.
