Authorities allege Nguyen and Nha headed an online football gambling operation. The group collaborated with international criminals to acquire accounts from football gambling websites. They then established a tiered system, recruiting hundreds of agents and gamblers.
Directed by Ho Chi Minh City Police Department, the Criminal Police Department coordinated with other units on this special case. In late July, over 300 officers conducted simultaneous raids across multiple provinces, arresting 139 people and seizing 175 mobile phones, numerous computers, nearly 6.8 billion VND, 56,000 USD, and other items.

Investigators determined the ring's gambling transactions from late last year to date totaled over 20,000 billion VND (approximately $1 billion USD).
This operation is a victory for Ho Chi Minh City police, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the People's Police Force Day and demonstrating their resolve to combat high-tech crime.
