Major Pham Nguyen Duc Lam, 37, the Area Police Team Leader, was seriously injured when a foreign man suddenly attacked him with a sharp knife on Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street. The incident occurred last night after a traffic collision between a moped driven by the tourist and a taxi escalated into a loud argument, disturbing public order.

According to initial information, Major Lam and other officers arrived at the scene to assess the situation and requested both parties to accompany them to the police station for resolution. Unexpectedly, the foreign man pulled out a knife, attacked Major Lam, and then sped away on his moped.

Mui Ne Ward Police, in coordination with specialized forces from Lam Dong Provincial Police, pursued and apprehended the suspect. He was arrested in Tan Minh commune, which borders Dong Nai province.

On the morning of 19/3, Lam Dong Provincial Police announced they are clarifying the man's violations.
