On the night of 1/3, the Criminal Police Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police, in collaboration with relevant units, conducted an inspection of the GDC Lucky Club, a gaming establishment located in the basement of the Sheraton Hotel in Nha Trang ward. During the operation, authorities discovered 13 foreign nationals engaged in illegal poker gambling, confiscating 3,500 USD and various related documents.

Initially, police identified Ha Woang Minh Hoa, 30, residing in Ho Chi Minh City, as the legal representative of the club. Customers wishing to play would approach the cashier to exchange money for value-linked cards or directly load USD into gambling machines.

The club collected a percentage commission on the total gambling stakes from its patrons.

Khanh Hoa Provincial Police are currently clarifying the actions and roles of those involved.

In May 2023, police also raided the basement area of the Sheraton Hotel, apprehending 17 individuals (including foreigners) for gambling and seizing hundreds of thousands of USD. Among them, police temporarily detained Jo WanSu, Shin jea Ho (both South Korean nationals), Thoong Tau Vay (residing in Dong Nai), Ngo Van Chuyen (residing in Nha Trang), along with 14 others who worked as cashiers, receptionists, and dealers, for organizing gambling.
