On the afternoon of August 19, locals cutting grass near an irrigation ditch in hamlet 1, Quynh Tam commune (formerly part of the old Quynh Luu district), discovered two bodies floating near the roadside. The bodies were in a state of decomposition. A damaged motorbike was found at the bottom of the ditch.
The ditch where the bodies were found is approximately 1 meter wide and 1.5 meters deep, with a water level of 30-50 cm. Dense vegetation obscures the area on both sides of the road.
