On the evening of 28/8, hundreds of Thanh Hoa provincial police officers searched the residence of Cao Tien Doan in Sam Son ward. Simultaneously, police also sealed off and searched the Dong A Company headquarters on Le Loi Boulevard in Hac Thanh ward. A large crowd gathered to observe the events.

The Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Investigation Agency has not yet publicly disclosed the specific reasons for the searches but stated they "received reports from citizens alleging illegal activities by Cao Tien Doan." Authorities accuse Doan of violating accounting regulations, causing serious consequences under Article 221 of the 2015 Criminal Code.
Near 1 a.m. on 29/8, police continued their search of both locations. Several trucks were brought to the scene to transport computers and documents from the Dong A Company headquarters.

Cao Tien Doan, 65, resides in Sam Son ward, Thanh Hoa province. In addition to being the general director of Dong A Real Estate Group LLC, he is a representative, member of the Economic and Budget Committee of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Council, president of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Business Association, and president of Dong A Thanh Hoa Football Club.
