On 13/6, the Economic Police Department of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police initiated criminal proceedings against Vu Thuy Trang, 35, residing in Tan My ward, Ho Chi Minh City, and Truong Thoai Vinh, 32, from Can Tho City. They face charges of producing and trading counterfeit food products.

According to investigators, Trang capitalized on the rising demand for ready-to-eat bird's nest products by selling items branded "Mina Nest" and "Gold Nest" on social media. To promote these products, Trang used 10 Facebook Fanpages, ran nationwide advertisements, and livestreamed, introducing "premium" stewed bird's nest. She falsely claimed the products contained up to 70% bird's nest to build customer trust.
Investigators determined Trang lacked a business license for bird's nest products and did not complete required self-declaration procedures. The products were outsourced for 6,000-9,000 dong per jar, then packaged, labeled, and sold at significantly higher prices.
During operations, Trang hired Truong Thoai Vinh to manage the business and participate in designing and printing product labels. These labels included information about non-existent production facilities. For instance, the "Yen chung san Gold Nest" and "Mina Nest - Thuong dinh yen Khanh Hoa" products listed production in Da Nang City and Khanh Hoa province, but verification showed these businesses and addresses did not exist. The duo also hired workers to package, finalize orders, and ship products nationwide.
