Ho Chi Minh City Police's Criminal Police Department arrested Nguyen Thanh Tai on 21/2 for investigation into property snatching.

On the evening of 17/2, the first day of Tet (Lunar New Year), police received a report from a 16-year-old girl. She stated that while she was stopped on her motorbike on Duong Ba Trac Street, in Chanh Hung ward (formerly District 8), to buy a drink, a man on a motorbike approached, snatched her phone, and quickly fled the scene.

Following the report, an investigation was launched. Police reviewed street camera footage, which helped identify Tai as the suspect. After the incident, Tai fled the local area.

By early morning on 19/2, detectives successfully tracked down, located, and apprehended Tai while he was hiding in Thanh An commune (formerly Can Gio district). The suspect admitted to selling the stolen phone for 10 million VND.

Police recovered the stolen property and returned it to the teenage girl.
