On 13/12, Hai Chau Ward Police in Da Nang arrested Nguyen Hoang Nghia, 39, from Dong Nai, a suspect in a series of projector thefts at schools across the city.

Earlier, police received a report that Tran Phu High School had 3 projectors stolen. Based on evidence collected, authorities identified Nghia within hours and summoned him for questioning.
At the police station, Nghia confessed to 5 thefts at high schools in Da Nang: Le Quy Don specialized high school, Nguyen Khuyen high school, Nguyen Hien high school, and Tran Phu high school, making off with a total of 14 projectors. He also admitted to a similar theft at Quang Binh University.
According to the investigation, Nghia typically chose the early morning hours, scaled walls to break into school grounds, and walked up staircases to classrooms. He used wrenches, screwdrivers, and saw blades to quickly dismantle projectors before selling them.
Authorities stated that Nghia has a prior criminal record for property theft and had previously stolen projectors from schools in Hanoi. He lived a transient lifestyle, operating in various localities.
Hai Chau Ward Police recovered 6 projectors and various tools used in the crimes, and transferred the case file to the Da Nang City Police Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.
