Quang Ninh police launch 'QN14 force' to combat street crime

On 24/9, Quang Ninh Provincial Police launched the QN14 force, specializing in patrolling, suppressing street crime, and ensuring traffic safety in key areas.

The QN14 force is composed of elite officers, strategically deployed to high-crime areas and working closely with local police. Task forces will focus on checks, alcohol testing, and drug testing at bus stations, ports, warehouses, and areas near bars, nightclubs, and entertainment venues—places with potential security risks.

Senior Colonel Nguyen Thuan, Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Provincial Police, stated that for years, the unit has implemented intensive security campaigns under the motto "no forbidden zones, no exceptions, no days off." Traffic conditions have gradually improved, accidents have been curbed, contributing to a safe environment for socio-economic development.

However, as a key province for economics, tourism, and services, Quang Ninh still faces potential challenges, especially youth gatherings, speeding, reckless driving, and carrying weapons to cause disturbances. "The establishment of QN14 aims to create a strong shift in the quality of maintaining order, focusing on suppressing street crime, strictly handling traffic violations, and contributing to absolute safety for upcoming major political events," Senior Colonel Thuan said.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Vu Van Dien, affirmed that maintaining security and order is crucial, especially with Quang Ninh maintaining a GRDP growth rate of over 11% and tax revenue exceeding 50,000 billion VND. "The launch of QN14 demonstrates the province's political determination to build a safe, civilized, and modern environment, laying the foundation for sustainable development," he said.
