Luong Van Dung pretended to call a taxi late at night, then repeatedly punched the driver and stole the car on a deserted road.

Around 11:30 p.m. on 25/6, Dung hailed a taxi driven by Huy from Minh Phuong residential area. During the trip, he repeatedly asked the driver to change destinations.

Upon reaching a deserted area in Tan Do residential area, Dung borrowed Huy's phone, claiming he needed to call a family member for payment. Taking advantage of the driver's distraction, Dung suddenly attacked, repeatedly punching the victim in the face before stealing the car.

Bac Ninh Provincial Police mobilized over 30 officers to track down and apprehend the suspect that same night while he was hiding at a guesthouse in Que Vo ward.
