Police in Bac Ninh province announced on 19/9 the arrest and detention of Thai, a resident of Ho Chi Minh City, for investigating the illegal trade of support tools.

Thai had previously received an administrative penalty for the illegal possession and transportation of scrap metal and weapon byproducts.

Initial investigations reveal that Thai directly imported guns, ammunition, and support tools from Thailand and Cambodia. He then advertised these items for sale on social media. Between May 2024 and the present, Thai sold approximately 150 rubber bullet guns and over 5,000 rounds of various ammunition types to a man in Bac Ninh.

A search of the suspect's residence yielded 33 guns of various types, 3,382 rounds of ammunition, and numerous gun parts, ammunition components, and support tools.

Police are expanding their investigation into the case.
