The suspects are accused of involvement in a network that illegally smuggled gold and silver across the border for distribution in Vietnam. From late 9/2025 until their arrests, Nguyen's ring alone smuggled over 900 kg of silver through Lang Son province. Further investigation revealed that Quan's group transported a substantial amount of illicit silver to Hanoi for sale. Initial seizures included 500 kg of silver, valued at over 23 billion VND, along with gold and cash.
