Around 9 a.m. on 23/8, a young man wearing a black jacket and a face mask entered the Nhat Nam mobile phone store on Nguyen Ai Quoc Street, Long Binh ward, asking about phone repairs.

Seeing only a woman and two young children playing games inside, the man asked to examine some phones with the intention of buying one. The owner showed him two iPhones. While she was distracted, he grabbed the phones and ran.
The store owner shouted for help, and several people joined the chase. The thief pulled out a knife and lashed out at them before escaping on a waiting motorbike. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Long Binh ward police are reviewing security footage and pursuing the thief.
