On 18/8, the Quang Tri Province Police Department initiated legal proceedings against three individuals and imposed travel restrictions while investigating potential food safety violations.

On 23/7, the Economic Police Department, in collaboration with other authorities, inspected a slaughterhouse in Quang Tri ward and discovered two men butchering pigs. Two pigs without quarantine stamps were transported to the market and handed over to a woman in Quang Tri ward for retail sale.
At Mr. Bay's slaughterhouse, in addition to the two slaughtered pigs that had been taken away, there was one already slaughtered pig and 19 live pigs showing signs of African swine fever infection.
Test results confirmed that 16 pigs were infected, with a total weight of 742 kg.
According to a report by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on 15/8, there are currently 926 outbreaks of African swine fever in 34 provinces and cities nationwide that haven't passed the 21-day mark. The disease's spread intensified in July but has shown a declining trend since the beginning of August.
On 5/8, Thanh Hoa Province Police arrested four individuals who collected sick and weak pigs from traders for slaughter. 1,600 kg of pork that tested positive for the African swine fever virus was confiscated.
