Twin brothers steal 27 iPhones

Teenage twins Tran Nhat Trung and Tran Nhat Quoc, 17, were apprehended after more than a day following a break-in at a store in Ngu Hanh Son ward, Da Nang, where they stole 27 phones valued at over 400 million VND.

Da Nang Police announced on 17/8 that they are holding twin brothers Tran Nhat Trung and Tran Nhat Quoc, both 17 years old and born in 2009, from Nam Dong Ha ward, Quang Tri province, for investigation into property theft. The theft occurred around 1:30 on 13/8, when the duo broke into a phone store at 170 Le Van Hien, Ngu Hanh Son ward, Da Nang.

According to the investigation, Trung and Quoc rode a motorcycle together, searching for vulnerable phone stores. Upon arriving at the target location, Quoc stood guard outside while Trung used a crowbar to break the lock and gain entry. The store owner later reported the loss of 27 iPhones of various models, with a total value exceeding 400 million VND.

After identifying that the suspects had fled to Hue City to hide and dispose of the stolen items, Da Nang City Police collaborated with Quang Tri Provincial Police and Hue City Police. Their coordinated efforts led to the apprehension of Trung and Quoc at a guesthouse on Phan Chu Trinh street in Hue City by 9:00 on 14/8.

Police recovered all 27 stolen iPhones and one motorcycle, which was used as the getaway vehicle. Further investigation revealed that this motorcycle was also stolen by the brothers in Ngu Hanh Son ward the previous month.
