A typical example occurred on 29/6 in Ngu Hanh Son Ward. A 51-year-old man parked his car overnight on Tran Trong Khiem - Le Van Hien street but forgot to lock the doors. The next morning, he discovered all property inside was gone. The total value of damages was approximately 119,5 million dong, including a mobile phone, headphones, feng shui gold, cash, and personal identification.
The Criminal Police Department, in coordination with Ngu Hanh Son Ward Police, investigated and identified the perpetrators as Van Long and Hoang Long. They often rode a Vario motorcycle, wandering through residential areas from 11 PM to dawn. When they found an unlocked car, they entered, rummaged for property, and then quickly fled.
Both individuals previously had criminal records. Van Long completed a prison sentence for murder in february, and Hoang Long was released from prison in 10/2025 for robbery. Both had no stable occupation and lived as vagrants.
At the investigation agency, the two admitted their criminal acts. They stated they had no money to spend, so they invited each other to carry out nearly 10 similar thefts in Da Nang.
