As a truck driver, I'm constantly worried when I hear about drivers being arrested after serious traffic accidents. In reality, while driving, we always try to follow the law, stay in our lanes, maintain the speed limit, and obey traffic signals. However, unexpected situations can occur, such as motorcyclists or pedestrians crossing the road improperly, or other vehicles swerving into our lane. In these situations, even a minor collision can lead to unintended, serious consequences.
Therefore, I wonder: when are drivers involved in fatal accidents charged with murder, and when are they charged with other offenses, such as traffic violations? Are drivers always held criminally responsible, or can they be exempted if they prove they were not at fault?
