Jesus Zuniga Jr, 30, was arrested on 29/1 in Harlingen, Texas, following an elaborate plan by his wife to lure him to a meeting with police. He faces charges of child solicitation and was detained on 30/1 with bail set at USD 250,000.

The situation began on 25/2/2025, when Zuniga's 30-year-old wife, who wishes to remain anonymous, learned from their 8-year-old daughter that Zuniga was messaging someone on Roblox, an online gaming platform. The wife found Zuniga in the kitchen with his phone and requested to see his messages. She discovered a conversation filled with intimate exchanges, which led her to suspect Zuniga was using Roblox to have an affair.

While his wife read the messages, Zuniga reportedly grabbed a second phone and began deleting content. During an argument, Zuniga confessed to his wife that he had lied about being 19 years old during his online chats. After Zuniga went to bed, his wife logged into his Roblox account. "I pretended to be him, messaged her, and received an immediate reply. I asked her age; she said 15 and sent a series of question marks. I immediately ran to the bathroom, feeling nauseous," Zuniga's wife stated.

Following his wife's accusation, police questioned Zuniga. However, officers initially stated they could not arrest him until the victim came forward. Determined, Zuniga's wife took matters into her own hands. "I spent months searching for the girl. I found her myself. I located her mother on Facebook, called her, and explained everything. Her mother was horrified," Zuniga's wife said.

In 10/2025, the girl's father officially filed a report with the Simi Valley Police Department in California. Officers interviewed the girl on 12/1, and the Harlingen Police Department in Texas received the interview report on 23/1.

On 29/1, Zuniga's wife went to the Harlingen police station to provide her statement and offered to assist in her husband's arrest. She arranged to meet Zuniga under the pretense of a home sale agreement, where he was arrested upon arrival.

"I feel immense relief. For nearly a year, I worked tirelessly to ensure justice was served," Zuniga's wife shared. Local media reported that Zuniga admitted to lying about being 19 years old to the minor girl because he "did not want her to run away" and believed she would stop talking to him if she knew his true age.
