Cau Kieu Ward Police completed processing the case on 31/1 against a 26-year-old man for sexual harassment and driving with a covered license plate. He received a total fine of 12 million VND for harassing a 23-year-old woman and attempting to evade identification.

According to the investigation, the incident occurred on the evening of 16/1. The man was riding his motorbike on Phan Dinh Phung street in Cau Kieu ward, Ho Chi Minh City. He spotted a 23-year-old woman waiting for relatives at an alley entrance and developed ill intentions. To avoid identification, he covered his license plate with a mask, then approached the victim and touched her chest. The woman cried out for help and tried to pull the back of his motorbike, but he accelerated and fled.
Cau Kieu Ward Police received the report on 28/1. Collaborating with the Criminal Police Department, officers extracted security camera footage to identify the perpetrator. During questioning by authorities, the 26-year-old man admitted to the act.
He received a total fine of 12 million VND: 7 million VND for the sexual harassment and 5 million VND for covering his motorbike's license plate. He was also ordered to issue a public apology to the victim.
