Nghia Khanh Commune Police summoned a young man and other individuals for questioning on 27/2, following a domestic assault. Authorities also requested a medical examination of the mother's injuries to determine the appropriate legal action.
The incident occurred on the evening of 19/2, the third day of Tet (Lunar New Year), at the family's home in Nghia Khanh commune, formerly part of Nghia Dan district. The young man reportedly began verbally abusing his family.
During the altercation, he allegedly used a fishing rod to strike his sister, who was sitting on a bed, causing her injuries. When their mother attempted to intervene, the young man reportedly hit her, breaking her arm and necessitating hospitalization.
Following the assault, the young man reportedly brandished a knife, threatening his family, before smashing a security camera installed in a corner of the house. A video of the incident was later extracted and widely shared on social media, sparking widespread outrage over the young man's actions.
