Her daughter, Lynnette Young Overby, shared that her mother has lived in her current home for over 70 years and still takes care of herself.
In May, the retired teacher celebrated her 108th birthday with over 130 guests, including Delaware Governor Matt Meyer. According to Browne, her longevity stems from habits maintained for decades.

**Exercise daily**
Each morning, Browne dedicates about 10 minutes to floor exercises that stretch, strengthen, and improve balance. Afterward, she stands against a wall to perform leg exercises.
Thanks to this consistent physical activity, she walks without a cane or walker. Three days a week, she drives herself to a senior center to perform chair dances and participate in community activities.
**Eat moderately**
Her diet is simple, featuring chicken, plenty of fruit, and black coffee for breakfast. Apples are a fruit she eats almost daily, along with peaches and blueberries.
She avoids fried foods, does not drink alcohol, limits sugar, and only occasionally enjoys pastries on special occasions.
At 108, she takes only one type of medication to control her blood pressure.

**Maintain independence**
After her second husband passed away, she decided not to remarry.
"I don't need to take care of another man. I realized I could take care of myself. To live well, you must make decisions for your own life," she stated.
Her ability to drive and live alone helps her maintain a sense of control over her life.
**Keep the mind active**
Beyond reading romance novels, Browne enjoys crossword puzzles and brain games. She actively participates in church activities, community centers, and alumni events.
According to her son, she is known for her organization, always carrying a small planner to remember all her appointments.
**Never stop exploring**
Even while teaching, Browne made time for travel. She visited Alaska twice, and explored Hawaii, Spain, Portugal, Brazil, and many other countries.
"I love to travel. Hawaii is my favorite because it's beautiful," she said.
Despite turning 108, Browne maintains a regular routine, actively meets people, and believes that staying active, eating healthy, keeping her mind sharp, and living independently are the elements that have kept her healthy for over a century.
