Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, doctor Priscilla Chan, completed the purchase of a villa at 7 Indian Creek Island, Miami, in early March for $170 million. This transaction marks the most expensive residential property in Miami-Dade County's history and ranks among the highest nationwide, according to the Wall Street Journal. The property was previously acquired by plastic surgeon Aaron Rollins and his wife in 2020 for just $30 million.
Real estate experts suggest Zuckerberg's relocation is aimed at avoiding California's proposed 5% wealth tax on the super-rich. This move reflects a trend among tech billionaires who are increasingly relocating assets from Silicon Valley to states offering more favorable tax policies.
Located off Biscayne Bay, Indian Creek is a secluded island with just 41 homes and about 80 residents. It earned the moniker "Billionaire Bunker" due to its stringent security: a single entrance via a guard-gated bridge and police patrols 24/7 on land and water. The Zuckerberg family will count Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, football legend Tom Brady, and Ivanka Trump and her husband among their neighbors.

According to design plans, the 42-year-old billionaire's mansion spans over 7,400 square meters of land. Its 2,800-square-meter living space includes 9 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a gym, spa, hair salon, and a home theater. The estate also features a separate learning area, catering to the homeschooling needs of Zuckerberg's children. Designed by renowned architect Ferris Rafauli, the home boasts a beachfront facade over 60 meters long, an infinity pool, and a dock accommodating large yachts.
Inside, a 5,600-liter fish tank serves as a divider between the living room and dining area. The library, with a double-height ceiling, features a secret passage hidden behind bookshelves, creating a mysterious ambiance.
