On 23/7, TikTok user Jay Guapo posted a video showing Nathaniel Cullerton, 45, and Kelsey Borenzweig, 29, embracing and kissing on a park bench in Central Park, New York.
The person filming approached them, stating: "Find a private spot; there are children in this area." The two lawyers stopped and covered their faces. Cullerton stood up, smiling and waving his hand, while Borenzweig asked the person to put away their phone.
The video garnered 9,6 million views, drawing significant criticism for Cullerton's actions due to his marital status.
Following the incident, the law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz suspended Cullerton pending an investigation. The lawyer's planned move to rival firm Gibson Dunn with a team of six colleagues by the end of july was also canceled.
The firm has not yet announced its disciplinary process for Borenzweig. As of 28/7, both lawyers' profiles remained on the company website.
US law firms prohibit romantic relationships between superiors and subordinates to prevent conflicts of interest. Employees are responsible for reporting any relationships that develop with colleagues to the human resources department.
Cullerton and Borenzweig previously collaborated on the legal team defending OpenAI and Sam Altman against Elon Musk's USD 150 billion lawsuit.

The 45-year-old lawyer married Moira Penza, 42, in 2/2016. Penza is currently employed at Wilkinson Stekloff law firm in New York. Before private practice, she served as a federal prosecutor, leading several major cases. The couple resides in a USD 2,3 million apartment on the Upper East Side.
When contacted for comment by the media, both law firms and Cullerton declined to provide statements.
The online community has drawn parallels between this incident and a "kiss cam" controversy at a Coldplay concert near Boston in 7/2025. Event cameras captured Astronomer software firm CEO Andy Byron embracing HR director Kristin Cabot. Notably, Byron was married, and Cabot was separated. Both resigned from Astronomer following the scandal.
