Thousands of parents support 2,500 children at Kun Marathon

On the morning of 18/4, thousands of parents gathered at Ngo Mon Square in Hue, cheering on 2,500 children as they tackled the Kun Marathon 2026 race.

Along the nearly one km race route, shouts of "Bin, try harder!" and "You're almost there, Dau!" continuously echoed from behind the protective barriers. Many parents used their phones to record their children overcoming challenges named "Green Forest Challenge" and "Kun Mountain Climb". At the finish line, parents waited to wipe away sweat and offer encouraging hugs as soon as their children completed the race.

Having traveled over 60 km from Quang Tri to Hue, Tran Phu's family arrived early at Ngo Mon Square to participate in the sports festival. Tran Phu stated that this was the third time his family had joined this race. "Each year, seeing our child stride confidently over obstacles on the track makes us happy, as they grow more mature each day," he shared.

Le Hong Bich Van from Thuan Hoa ward also brought her child to the starting area at 6:15 h. According to Le Hong Bich Van, the event is an opportunity for children to exercise, confidently overcome challenges, and create beautiful childhood memories. After finishing, all young athletes received medals as a reward for their individual efforts.

From 6:00 h, the atmosphere at the starting line was lively with the presence of artist Truong Giang and YouTubers Meo Simmy and Mike Den. After a warm-up session with the guests, 2,500 children aged 6 to 10 were divided into 5 age groups to conquer the race course in turns. They had to overcome three obstacles simulating natural terrain before reaching the finish line.

In the 30 degrees C weather, many parents carried bags, filmed with their phones, and reassured their children. Some children were hesitant, participating in a crowded sports event for the first time. Some even cried and needed encouragement from parents and organizers before they could start.

Under the theme "Together with Kun to protect all species," after finishing the race, children also participated in a series of interactive games such as "Rescue the Green Forest" and "Clean the Ocean". These activities help children recognize the habitats of various animals, fostering environmental protection awareness. This message is consistent throughout the VnExpress Marathon series in the first half of 2026.
