Toshiba introduces 'business kitchen', launches Japandi collection

Toshiba hosts the "Business Kitchen - Elevate Home Cooking" event, introducing its Japandi kitchen ecosystem, launching two new products, and marking a milestone as an industry leader in microwave ovens.

The "Business Kitchen - Elevate Home Cooking" event took place from 24-26/7 at Thiso Mall in TP HCM. It offered an immersive experience of a Japandi-style kitchen ecosystem. The program also launched two strategic products from the Japandi Series collection and celebrated the brand's achievement as Vietnam's number one best-selling microwave oven in 2025.

More than just a showcase for home appliances, the event was designed as a journey to explore modern living spaces. Visitors had the opportunity to experience product features firsthand, participate in interactive activities, enjoy culinary delights, and learn about Toshiba's design philosophy for the family kitchen.

Two new products in the Japandi kitchen ecosystem

A highlight of the event was the introduction of the MX2-STR25SC(WH) smart steam-grill microwave oven and the Japandi Series Kumo refrigerator. These are two strategic products from the Japandi Series collection.

The MX2-STR25SC(WH) smart steam-grill microwave oven integrates four functions: steaming, air frying, grilling, and defrosting, all within one appliance. Culinary and product research expert Lucas Hung demonstrated these features during the event.

The device simplifies tasks that typically require specialized tools, from drying flower teas to preserve their aroma and color, to preparing soft cakes and performing various other cooking steps. By integrating multiple functions into one product, the microwave aims to shorten meal preparation time while ensuring food quality.

Concurrently, Toshiba introduced the Japandi Series Kumo refrigerator, the next generation of its Japandi product line. The appliance features a standard 600 mm fit-in design, allowing it to integrate seamlessly with kitchen cabinets. It also combines a nine-layer cloud-hued glass door with a dual independent cooling system to prevent odor mixing between compartments.

According to a brand representative, these two products were developed to complement each other within the same kitchen ecosystem, aiming for living spaces that prioritize minimalism, convenience, and an enhanced daily user experience.

Beyond the product display area, Toshiba dedicated a space to celebrate its milestone as the number one best-selling microwave oven brand in Vietnam in 2025. A prominent "number 1" symbol was centrally placed, signifying the brand's development in the microwave oven category.

To commemorate this achievement, Toshiba set up a "You are always number 1" check-in booth, where visitors could take photos with their names. A brand representative stated that this activity served to thank consumers who have supported the brand for many years, while also conveying the message that customers are always the top priority.

A space inspired by Japanese lifestyle

The event space was designed as an open kitchen, allowing visitors to interact directly with appliances rather than merely observing them.

One popular area was inspired by "Kumo," which means "cloud" in Japanese. Large cloud models were arranged around the refrigerator display, reflecting the product line's light and minimalist spirit.

This concept also links to the Kumo refrigerator's nine-layer cloud-hued glass door design, making the appliance a focal point in modern kitchens. The standard 600 mm fit-in design supports seamless installation with kitchen cabinets, creating a cohesive overall space. To extend the experience, Toshiba offered visitors cotton candy, evoking the image of soft clouds.

Another highlight was a 520-liter refrigerator fully stocked with various Japanese foods and specialties. Through the compartment organization, visitors could directly observe the storage, arrangement, and food retrieval capabilities during daily use.

According to Toshiba, this display aimed to embody the precise Japanese spirit in every detail, while helping users visualize the practical experience of integrating the product into their home kitchens.

Interactive activities connect users with the kitchen

Throughout the event, a series of experiential activities catered to various visitor groups, from young individuals and couples to multi-generational families.

Attendees could blend flower teas, decorate cupcakes or flan under expert guidance, and enjoy dishes prepared live using the MX2-STR25SC(WH) smart steam-grill microwave oven.

One popular activity was the "Kumo Calligraphy" challenge. Visitors wrote "Kumo" in Japanese directly on the refrigerator's nine-layer glass surface to test its stain resistance and ease of cleaning after use.

Each activity included souvenirs such as cotton candy, dishes prepared by Chef Lucas Hung using the new microwave, or small Toshiba home appliances. A brand representative stated these experiences were designed to enhance family connection and help users understand the practical value of each appliance.

A Toshiba representative said the event was also an opportunity for the brand to thank consumers for their long-standing support. The program was open to the public, allowing direct product experience, feedback sharing, and interaction with the development team.

Embracing the philosophy "Details Matter," Toshiba ensured every experience area was meticulously designed, from space layout and interactive activities to product experiences. The brand hopes "Business Kitchen - Elevate Home Cooking" will not only showcase appliances but also inspire kitchens to become connecting spaces where daily cooking transforms into a convenient, refined, and relaxing experience.
