Why young people are searching for the "international house cleaning" music video at year-end

The music video expresses the feelings of young people who are busy cleaning their homes at year-end while also wanting to enjoy the festive atmosphere.

The song "International House Cleaning", released in 2021, is currently being re-shared by young people across various social media platforms. Short videos featuring the song's chorus, integrated with house cleaning activities, have garnered hundreds of thousands of views.

Mai Lan from Hai Phong said the music video is being re-watched because it captures the sentiment of young people as Tet approaches. They look forward to the festive reunion atmosphere but are busy with house cleaning and year-end tasks. "International House Cleaning" uses music and dance to tell the familiar story of Gen Z during the Tet season. Its lively melody, concise lyrics, and cheerful rhythm transform the often-tiring task of house cleaning into a lighthearted, entertaining experience that helps them refresh for the new year.

Appearing throughout the music video, bottles of Zero Degree Green Tea become a solution to help cool down during cleaning hours. This is also the message the song's producers want to convey to the audience: Tet is not just about a tidy home, but also about a refreshed spirit, ready to welcome the new year.

On social media, many young viewers expressed seeing themselves in every frame of the music video.

Gia Hung, 18, from Hanoi, said every year-end, what awaits everyone is a long cleaning checklist and endless scrubbing sessions. For many families, year-end cleaning is an indispensable part of preparing for Tet. However, for Gen Z, a generation busy with work, studies, and personal lives, "house cleaning" can sometimes become an unnamable pressure. These are the days of late finishes at work, followed by rolling up sleeves to clean, and the feeling of heat and exhaustion as tasks pile up with the Tet holiday still ahead.

Yet, thanks to the lively, gentle melody and fun choreography in "International House Cleaning", a positive spirit is spread during the year-end period. Minh Anh, 19, from TP HCM, shared, "Every year-end, I play this song to get motivated. Cleaning no longer feels like torture, but more like a dance practice or light entertainment."

"Every time I clean, I play this song to create a fun atmosphere, and cleaning feels less tiring," Minh Anh said.

The return of the "International House Cleaning" music video has launched Zero Degree Green Tea's Tet 2026 campaign. This music product perfectly captures the "want to work, want to play" mindset of the younger generation.

A representative from the song's production team stated that "International House Cleaning" conveys a message to young people every spring season. It suggests that no matter how busy they are, with a bit of music, some "cleaning choreography", and a refreshing bottle of green tea, Gen Z can dissolve all stress and be ready to refresh for the new year.

The music video features young rappers and singers like Yuno Bigboi, Vu Phung Tien, and Emma, in collaboration with the Zero Degree Green Tea brand. Four years after its release, the video has garnered 10 million views, becoming a viral phenomenon upon its initial debut.
