11 centrally managed officials disciplined in first half of 2025

The Politburo, Secretariat, and Central Inspection Commission have disciplined 11 centrally managed officials in the first six months of 2025.

Dang Van Dung, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for Internal Affairs, announced this information at a press briefing on the morning of 7/7 regarding the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption's meeting.

Since the beginning of the year, party committees at all levels have disciplined 230 party organizations and more than 7,230 party members. Inspection and auditing agencies have proposed the recovery and handling of finances exceeding 9,533 billion VND and 617 hectares of land. They have also proposed administrative actions against 381 collectives and 1,083 individuals, and transferred 28 cases with signs of criminal activity to investigative agencies.

The Government Inspectorate has also completed inspections and proposed solutions for numerous violations at the Bach Mai 2 and Viet Duc 2 hospital construction projects over the past three months.

In the first six months of the year, the Central Committee, Politburo, and Secretariat issued over 100 documents related to party building and anti-corruption efforts. The National Assembly passed 38 laws, amended several articles of the 2013 Constitution, and issued 45 resolutions. The government also amended, supplemented, and newly issued over 300 decrees, resolutions, and directives; ministries, branches, and localities issued more than 3,277 documents.

Dung said the government has focused on addressing bottlenecks in several key projects, including the Ho Chi Minh City tidal flood control project; renewable energy projects that have been completed but are not yet connected and operational; the Bach Mai 2 and Viet Duc 2 hospital construction projects; and eight projects at risk of significant loss and waste as requested by the Standing Board of the Steering Committee.

Ministries, branches, and localities have also implemented comprehensive anti-corruption measures, linked to the completion of administrative apparatus streamlining, promoting the application of science and technology, and digital transformation. The national database system has been essentially completed and connected to the data of ministries and branches to serve the requirements of "monitoring and inspection based on data".

Since the beginning of the year, in cases monitored by the Steering Committee, assets worth over 310 billion VND have been seized, inventoried, frozen, and confiscated during the investigation phase. During the trial phase, many defendants and their families voluntarily returned billions of VND. In the civil judgment enforcement phase, nearly 7,000 billion VND has been recovered, bringing the total value of recovered assets since the Steering Committee's establishment to 103,854 billion VND.
