In An Giang, the Hope Bridge 433 (Tu Ben bridge) in Kien Thanh commune, Cho Moi district, was also newly built with concrete, measuring 20 m long and 3.8 m wide, at a cost of 390 million VND. Previously, the old wooden bridge, only 1.2 m wide, had deteriorated after decades of use. Every rainy season, residents faced difficulties commuting and transporting agricultural products due to the slippery bridge and muddy roads.
"The old bridge was weak and slippery, making everyone worried when crossing. Now, with a new sturdy bridge, the people are very happy. On behalf of the community, I would like to thank the Hope Foundation and the sponsors," expressed Vo Phat Thanh, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kien Thanh commune, at the inauguration ceremony in May.
