Hundreds of people gathered on the evening of 20/8 to visit and photograph the newly unveiled hemisphere structure, boat-prow-shaped observation deck, and fountain at Ba To park in Nghia Lo ward, Quang Ngai. These new attractions quickly became a focal point, drawing significant public attention.
These components are part of a larger anti-erosion embankment project along the section from Tam Thuong wharf to Tra Khuc 1 bridge, combined with extensive park renovation. The project, which commenced in late 2024, represents a substantial investment totaling 380 billion VND.
According to Tran Hoang Vinh, Director of the Quang Ngai Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board for Traffic Works, the observation deck's design resembles a stylized boat. This design draws inspiration from the historic Tam Thuong wharf, once a bustling hub for boats. The glowing hemisphere, composed of a steel frame and over 220 triangular glass panels, features two internal levels. The investor states that this structure symbolizes the unity and bond among Quang Ngai residents, reflecting their aspiration for a prosperous and happy life.
Viewed from the Tra Khuc river, the boat-prow-shaped observation deck and the hemisphere stand prominently with Ba To park behind them. These two elements collectively span a floor area of 750 square meters, constructed with steel pipes, steel beams, and concrete flooring. A sophisticated LED lighting system capable of automatically changing colors enhances their visual appeal.
Teams are currently testing various artistic lighting and water spray scenarios. The first phase of the project is expected to be handed over before 25/8, ensuring it is ready to serve the public for National Day on 2/9.

The area around the hemisphere and observation deck attracts many visitors for recreation and photography. A riverside walkway runs beneath the boat prow, making the structure resemble a small overpass.
For nearly a week, as the contractor tested lighting scenarios, many families brought children to enjoy the cool air and take photos with the hemisphere. Many seized the opportunity to set up stalls selling drinks or performed in mascot costumes.

Beyond these prominent features, the project also includes constructing a 1,2 km long anti-erosion embankment, extending from Tam Thuong wharf to Tra Khuc 1 bridge. The southern bank of the Tra Khuc river, previously overgrown with wild plants, has now been renovated into a vibrant riverside public space. According to the investor's representative, the structure not only provides a place for residents and tourists to stroll, admire views, and take photos, but also evokes the history of Tam Thuong wharf, symbolizing Quang Ngai's development.
