Standing Member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu presented the decision to assign Nguyen Thanh Nhan on the morning of July 23.

Nguyen Thanh Nhan, 49, is from TP HCM. He holds a doctorate in economics and is a construction engineer.

He previously served as secretary of the City Party Committee and chairman of the Ha Tien City People's Committee (formerly in Kien Giang province). He later became vice chairman, then chairman, of the Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee. After An Giang and Kien Giang merged in 7/2025, he was appointed standing deputy secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee and chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Council.

The Party Committee of Central Party Agencies is a party committee directly under the Party Central Committee. Its functions include leading and directing subordinate party organizations to carry out political tasks and build clean, strong party organizations. It also proposes and recommends issues related to the Central Committee's leadership over the Party Committee to the Party Central Committee, Politburo, and Secretariat.
