Near midnight, a fire erupted in a ground floor apartment at the Doc Lap apartment building on Do Doc Long street. Residents in neighboring units attempted to extinguish the blaze with mini fire extinguishers, but were unsuccessful. Within minutes, the fire intensified significantly.

Several ambulances were dispatched to the scene to provide medical assistance. Eight people, including 6 adults and 2 children, were injured and taken to Thong Nhat and Tan Phu hospitals.

Dozens of firefighters and fire trucks also arrived at the scene. By 1 a.m., the fire was under control.
