Around 4 a.m., a fire erupted in the apartment on the 9th floor, rapidly intensifying within minutes, with smoke and flames pouring out of the windows. After receiving warnings from the building management, hundreds of residents evacuated to the lobby using the staircases.

The building's management board and building management, along with residents, used on-site firefighting equipment to control the blaze. About 10 minutes later, firefighters arrived and brought the fire under control by 4:30 a.m.

The incident caused no casualties, but it destroyed some belongings inside the apartment.

According to a building representative, the preliminary cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit from a charging socket in the living room.

The Ecohome 1 apartment complex is a social housing project, comprising four 12-story buildings with 930 apartments ranging from 36,5 to 69,6 square meters. The complex is located near Pham Van Dong street and Hoa Binh park.
