On the morning of 16/3, the Office of the National Election Council announced the election situation. Statistics as of 11 p.m. on 15/3 showed 76,436,561 eligible voters nationwide, with 76,188,970 having cast their ballots.
The oldest voter to cast a ballot was Hoang Thi Tong, 119 years old, of the Mong ethnic group, residing in Lung Liem hamlet, Yen Tho commune, Cao Bang province.
Four of the 34 provinces and cities nationwide achieved a 99.99% voter turnout rate: Lao Cai, TP Hue, Tuyen Quang, and Vinh Long. All 34 provinces and cities reported a voter turnout rate exceeding 99%. These figures have been updated from previous reports for some localities.

Immediately after polling closed at the voting stations, election teams proceeded with vote counting. Ballots are classified and tallied to determine the total number of ballots issued, received, and the number of valid and invalid votes, in accordance with regulations.
Vote counting results at each polling station are publicly posted for voters to observe. Subsequently, the Election Committee compiles results from all polling stations within the electoral unit and records the names of successful candidates. For National Assembly delegate elections, the final results are announced by the National Election Council after reviewing and confirming the qualifications of the elected delegates. For People's Council delegates at all levels, results are announced by the Election Committee at the provincial or commune level.
According to the National Election Council's plan, the results of the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels elections for the 2026-2031 tenure are expected to be announced on 22/3.
