Bag suspected of containing 24 kg of drugs washes ashore at Ke Ga beach

A nylon bag, containing 24 packages of a white crystalline substance suspected to be drugs and weighing approximately 24 kg, washed ashore on Ke Ga beach in Tan Thanh commune, prompting residents to report the discovery to the police.

On 7/3, Lam Dong Provincial Police announced they are collaborating with local authorities to investigate the origin of the suspected narcotics.

The discovery occurred on the afternoon of 6/3 when a man, scavenging for plastic along Ke Ga beach, found a large nylon bag washed onto the shore.

Upon opening the bag, he discovered numerous rectangular, tightly sealed packages. Foreign text on the packaging was largely peeled off and blurred by seawater.

An initial inspection revealed 24 packages, each weighing about one kg. Some packages were torn, exposing the white crystalline substance inside.

Believing the contents to be drugs, the man immediately reported his find to the local government. Police promptly arrived at the scene, confiscated, and sealed all packages for further investigation.

In recent times, numerous similar packages of suspected drugs have washed ashore on the coasts of Central provinces, including Quang Ngai, Thua Thien - Hue, and Quang Tri.
