The nearly 500-meter-long, 9-meter-wide structure features two one-way lanes. Once operational, vehicles from Mai Chi Tho Boulevard (heading towards Vo Nguyen Giap) can turn left onto the bridge towards Dong Van Cong, or proceed straight to Cat Lai Port. This new route separates traffic, particularly for container trucks, reducing pressure on the area.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Management Board of Investment and Construction of Traffic Projects, the N3 branch is part of construction package 10, one of the main components of the An Phu intersection project, with an approximate value of 236 billion VND. Following the N3's opening, the contractor will continue work on the N4 branch, slated for operation by late June.
The N4 branch is similar in scale, measuring nearly 500 meters long and 9 meters wide, with two lanes, serving traffic in the opposite direction from Dong Van Cong to Mai Chi Tho.
The An Phu intersection is a key project for Ho Chi Minh City, which began construction in 2022 with a total investment exceeding 3,400 billion VND. This three-level structure comprises an underpass and several overpass branches, connecting major arteries: Mai Chi Tho, the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway, Dong Van Cong, and Luong Dinh Cua.
Previously, some components of the project were already in use, including the overpass for vehicles turning right from the expressway onto Mai Chi Tho (heading towards Vo Nguyen Giap) and the underpass from Mai Chi Tho to the expressway. Additionally, the Ba Dat and Giong Ong To bridges have been completed, further contributing to congestion reduction in the area.
