Around 15h30 on 1/5, a car with a Da Nang license plate, driven by Vo Nguyen Duy An, 24, pulled into Gas Station 90 in Tu Cam hamlet, Thang Dien commune. While the vehicle was at the pump, a fire suddenly erupted, quickly engulfing the entire car.

At the scene, the fire roared fiercely, accompanied by crackling sounds from the car's body due to the intense heat. Gas station staff immediately deployed mini fire extinguishers to combat the blaze on the car and prevent it from spreading to the fuel tanks. However, the extreme heat made it impossible for anyone to approach.
Many nearby residents also rushed to assist, continuously throwing buckets of water onto the flames. Amidst the thick black smoke, shouts of "spray here" and "pour water on it" could be heard. Residents and gas station staff also cautioned each other to stay clear of the pump area for safety.
In the chaotic scene, a woman's voice repeatedly cried out, "Please save my children." However, the fire intensified too quickly and powerfully, making on-site rescue efforts unable to reach the car's back seat.
After approximately 8 minutes, the fire was largely brought under control, but the two victims in the back, Tran Huu Tri, 17, and Duong Anh Kiet, 16, had died. The fire also destroyed part of the car and damaged one fuel pump.
