Around 12:20 AM, a 45-seat bus with a Thai Nguyen license plate, driven by a 43-year-old male residing in Thai Nguyen, was traveling on the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway in the Nghe An - Ha Noi direction.

Upon reaching Chuong Duong commune, Ha Noi, the bus veered off the expressway and fell onto the service road.

At the time of the accident, there were 32 passengers on board.

The accident resulted in four deaths: three at the scene and one at the hospital.

Several other injured passengers were taken for emergency treatment at Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Agriculture Hospital, and Thuong Tin General Hospital.

At the scene, the bus was heavily damaged, blocking the service road, with debris scattered around. A section of the expressway guardrail was also damaged.

According to authorities, initial findings indicated the driver did not violate alcohol limits and tested negative for drugs.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
