Around 10h, smoke and flames erupted from the front undercarriage of a passenger bus parked within the premises of Hiep Que gas station, about 200 m from Hoc Mon intersection. Staff used onsite fire extinguishers to douse the flames, but they were unsuccessful.
Minutes later, the fire intensified, engulfing the bus. Several explosions were heard, and window glass shattered outwards, forcing bystanders to keep their distance. There were no occupants on the bus at the time of the incident.
Several fire trucks and over 10 police officers arrived at the scene. Firefighters deployed hoses to control the blaze, preventing its spread. After about 20 minutes, the fire was extinguished, and the gas station remained unaffected.

The fire incinerated the driver's cabin and all rows of seats, leaving the vehicle frame charred. According to residents, the bus was parked there awaiting its afternoon passenger pickup schedule. The gas station has an open area, often allowing familiar vehicles to park while awaiting passengers.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
