Around 3 a.m., residents of alley 39/22 on Ly Nam De street, Hoi Phu ward (Pleiku City, Gia Lai) were awakened by a loud crash. A 2-meter high, 43-meter long section of the Duc Long Gia Lai bus station's perimeter wall had collapsed onto the 150-square-meter warehouse belonging to Nguyen Van Tuan, 66.

The incident buried several belongings, including three motorbikes, a bicycle, two gas cylinders, and a generator. Tuan said he and his two grandchildren were asleep inside the house, nearly 10 meters from the collapse, and escaped unharmed. However, the adjacent 5-meter wide kitchen suffered cracked walls and is now at risk of collapsing.
"This morning, the whole family moved our belongings upstairs, fearing the remaining bus station wall might collapse and bury the kitchen," Tuan said.

According to Tuan, during the bus station's construction in 2003, a similar incident occurred when a section of the wall tilted towards his property. The company made repairs and reinforcements at the time, but they were insufficient. During the rainy season, water from the bus station flows onto residents' properties, and the wall has shown signs of deterioration.
Gia Lai has experienced continuous heavy rain for several days.

Vu Manh Dinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoi Phu ward, said authorities are investigating the cause and working with the bus station to address the aftermath.
The Duc Long Gia Lai bus station covers 25,000 square meters, has a capacity of over 1,500 vehicles, and began operations in 2006. It serves as a major transportation hub, connecting inter-provincial routes in the Central Highlands region.
