Cam Lo - La Son Expressway Temporarily Closed at Night for Expansion

The Cam Lo - La Son expressway will temporarily close nightly to ensure traffic safety and order during its ongoing expansion project.

The Traffic Police Department (CSGT) under the Ministry of Public Security announced the temporary nighttime closure of the Cam Lo - La Son expressway. Starting on 17/5, the expressway will be inaccessible from 5 PM each day until 5 AM the following morning.

This closure affects the entire route from Km0 to Km102+200, including all interchanges.

According to a CSGT assessment, operating traffic alongside construction at night poses a high risk of accidents. This is due to limited visibility, narrowed road sections, altered traffic flow, and numerous construction vehicles on the route, which increase the likelihood of unexpected incidents at high speeds.

"The temporary nighttime closure is a necessary measure to ensure absolute safety for people and vehicles during the expressway's expansion construction", a CSGT announcement stated.

During the closure period, the CSGT advises residents and transport companies to proactively choose suitable routes. They should monitor traffic diversion information and adhere to instructions from authorities and the road's signaling system.

The Cam Lo - La Son expressway is part of the eastern North-South Expressway system. It is 98,3 km long, passing through Quang Tri (36,3 km) and Thua Thien Hue (62 km). The entire route is currently undergoing expansion from two lanes to 4 lanes.
