Car carrying four people catches fire on Bao Loc Pass

While driving across Bao Loc Pass, the driver noticed the car catching fire, quickly opened the doors, and along with three other occupants, escaped before the vehicle was completely engulfed, on the morning of 23/8.

Around 1:13 AM, Duong Thai Ngoc, 26, from Di Linh commune, was driving a car with Ho Chi Minh City license plates on Quoc lo 20, heading from Dong Nai to Da Lat. As he ascended Bao Loc Pass, in the section passing through Da Huoai 2 commune, the car unexpectedly caught fire.

The driver pulled over to the roadside, opened the doors, and along with his wife and a mother and her child, quickly escaped. They, along with passersby, attempted to extinguish the fire, but it was unsuccessful, and the blaze intensified fiercely.

Authorities dispatched a fire truck to the scene, extinguishing the flames; however, the car was completely destroyed.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Bao Loc Pass spans approximately 10 km on Quoc lo 20, connecting the Da Huoai area with Bao Loc. It serves as a crucial route linking the Southeast region with Lam Dong. The pass features numerous steep sections, sharp turns, and winding curves, making it prone to traffic incidents and landslides.
