Car crashes into cultural performance, killing one and injuring 10

A seven-seat car unexpectedly plowed into a crowd watching a cultural performance outside a community center in Phong Du Thuong commune, killing one and injuring 10.

Around 10 p.m., a seven-seat car leaving the community center in Lang Chang village suddenly crashed into a crowd enjoying a cultural performance celebrating the success of the Phong Du Thuong Commune Party Congress.

The scene was chaotic, filled with screams. An 8-year-old child died at the scene, while several women and children lay motionless amid overturned tables and chairs.

The car came to a halt after hitting an iron pole on the community center grounds, about 10 meters from the victims.

Luong Van Thu, chairman of the Phong Du Thuong Commune People's Committee (UBND), reported one child died, and 10 others were injured and receiving emergency treatment at the former Van Yen District Medical Center.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident and questioning the driver.
