Around 1:40 p.m., a 4-seat car with a Quang Ngai license plate was traveling on Highway 1, heading north. As it approached Mo Cay (formerly Duc Chanh commune, Duc Pho district), the car suddenly changed lanes to the left.

Simultaneously, a truck traveling in the same direction and following too closely was unable to react in time and collided with the rear of the car.

The impact propelled the car dozens of meters, scattering sections of the median. The car ended up precariously perched on the concrete barrier.

The three occupants of the car were seriously injured and trapped inside. Bystanders broke open the doors and pulled the victims out to be taken to the hospital.

At the scene, the rear of the car was severely damaged, and the front of the truck also sustained damage. Traffic police arrived to manage the traffic flow and investigate the cause of the accident.
